CiaoCatherine is the blog of Catherine M. McCarthy: writer, editor and events strategist based in Washington, DC. She has maintained a personal blog in various iterations since 2002.
Catherine is a regular contributor to DCist.com and BrightestYoungThings.com. As a freelance writer and researcher she has worked for print, radio, television and online outlets including the St. Petersburg Times, Venus Zine, The McLaughlin Group and Creative Loafing Media in addition to independent clients. Catherine graduated from New College of Florida with a concentration in British and American Literature and interviewed writers David Sedaris and David Rakoff for her undergraduate thesis on narrative identity in contemporary humor.
